Hi, ich bin Nadine, 28 Jahre alt und komme ursprünglich aus Köln. Seit einer 8-monatigen Soloreise durch Asien nach dem Abitur hat mich das Reisefieber gepackt. Gemeinsam mit meinem Hund Gismo war ich auf zahlreichen Roadtrips durch Europa bis nach Nordafrika unterwegs. Nach seinem Tod reise ich nun wieder viel mit dem Backpack durch ferne Länder. Hier auf meinem Blog Horseshoe Travel verbinde ich meine beiden großen Leidenschaften: das Reisen und das Reiten – und das schon seit 2016!

What life looks like since I changed my phone number to +354, my office view turned into the mountains of Reykjadalur, rain gear became my daily uniform, and the herd of Eldhestar my favorite colleagues. 🇮🇸🐴✨ One month in Iceland. ♥️🇮🇸 Although every beginning holds a certain magic, it took me some time to settle into my new life in the far north. A new riding style, new routines, a different climate and way of life. At first, Iceland felt a bit cold and distant to me, almost like the giant glaciers that dominate this island. But if you manage to look beyond the surface, you discover a Nordic culture that could hardly be warmer. A bit like Mýrdalsjökull itself, hiding the active volcano Katla beneath its ice. 🌋🧊 Things I’ve learned in one week on the Faroe Islands: Missing the days when life was filled with my favorite white mares and giraffe encounters instead of just writing a thesis about them 🤍✨ and when my long-distance bestie was actually my roommate 🤠 @_lara_rtr_ 🌍 Du jings dann op de Reis I left one home to return to another. Thailand. It‘s been exactly nine years since I last set foot in the Land of Smiles. Back then I traveled through the north around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, explored Bangkok, and island-hopped from Phuket to Koh Phi Phi and the Similan Islands, talked with monks and slept close to elephants in the jungle. I also remember how touristy it already felt - and how I once wrote a blog post asking if Thailand was still worth visiting despite over-tourism (https://horseshoe-travel.com/2017/01/11/thailand-backpacking-zu-touristisch-oder-doch-eine-reise-wert/ - a bit of self-promotion never hurts).👩‍💻🧲 The answer is still yes! Wenn am Himmel de Stääne danze „How I wish, how I wish you were here” ♥️🐺
