Hi, ich bin Nadine, 28 Jahre alt und komme ursprünglich aus Köln. Seit einer 8-monatigen Soloreise durch Asien nach dem Abitur hat mich das Reisefieber gepackt. Gemeinsam mit meinem Hund Gismo war ich auf zahlreichen Roadtrips durch Europa bis nach Nordafrika unterwegs. Nach seinem Tod reise ich nun wieder viel mit dem Backpack durch ferne Länder. Hier auf meinem Blog Horseshoe Travel verbinde ich meine beiden großen Leidenschaften: das Reisen und das Reiten – und das schon seit 2016!

Gismo 🖤. Because I did not need a year of horses to create my life around them. Takk Ísland! For giving me the chance to not only fall in love with nature, horses and the cold life up in the north, but also for giving me a home after graduating and feeling a little lost after seven years of studying. I had spent so much of the last 10 years on the road - travelling from one place to the next, living in four different countries, meeting people, saying goodbye to people, taking jobs, quitting jobs and constantly moving on to the next thing. I got so used to not staying anywhere for too long that everything started to feel a little temporary. Iceland you have my heart, especially on those grey beach days 🩶🇮🇸 Three months in Iceland. 🇮🇸♥️ I’ve settled into life here now after experiencing every kind of weather, endless rides, unforgettable encounters, and everyday life in Iceland. I‘ve felt the magic of the beginning so many times over the past few years. Maybe that’s why I kept moving from one country to another. But Iceland somehow manages to keep that feeling alive. Maybe it’s the volcanoes, glaciers, and the countless forces of nature. Maybe it’s the uniqueness of the Land of Fire and Ice. Maybe it’s the stories about elves and trolls. For me, though, it’s the horses, and will always be. Hegri, Blökk, Hittling, Glanni, Leo, and all the others that are part of this photo series. Þórsmörk. What a breathtaking mountain valley, nestled between the three glaciers Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull. It is named after the Norse god Thor. Legend has it that this dramatic landscape was created when Thor struck the earth with his hammer, Mjölnir. With a herd of 32 horses, we covered more than 100 km, riding through the entire valley, crossing the powerful Krossá River, passing glaciers, lush green mountains, and landmarks connected to Thor, like the famous Elf Church. These legends and fairytales are just such an important part of the Icelandic culture. 2.5 months in Iceland in 9 pictures 🇮🇸📸: Vit liva dreymin. Og tað er ein fantastisk góð kensla. ❤️💭🇫🇴 „There is no more sagacious animal than the Icelandic horse. He is stopped by neither snow, nor storm, nor impassable roads, nor rocks, glaciers, or anything. He is courageous, sober, and surefooted. He never makes a false step, never shies. If there is a river or fjord to cross… you will see him plunge in at once, just as if he were amphibious, and gain the opposite bank.“ What life looks like since I changed my phone number to +354, my office view turned into the mountains of Reykjadalur, rain gear became my daily uniform, and the herd of Eldhestar my favorite colleagues. 🇮🇸🐴✨
